De-congestion: Jigawa govt. establishes 246 new schools

Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar

IN continuation of de-congestion of pupils and students the Jigawa state government established 246 new primary and junior secondary schools ‎and constructed over 20,000 additional classrooms across the state.

This was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Salisu Zakari while fielding question to the news in Dutse, yesterday, said “a total of 133 primary and 113 junior secondary schools is established and constructed in the different location of the state.

Alhaji Salisu Zakari explained that‎ “all this is in line with present administration under governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar to de-congest some primary and secondary schools which are overpopulated due to the increase of schools enrollment in the state in the last two and a half years”.

According to him “this administration also provides over 20,000 additional classrooms in the existing schools mostly those in the urban and major towns in the 27 local government areas”.

The executive Chairman added that “about 500,000 of furniture was provided in the both newly established and old primary and junior secondary school across the state since the inceptions of the present administration”.

He stated further that over 8, 000 teachers are promoted ‎to their various next grade levels, “another 8, 000 we sponsored for various training and retraining aim at improving the teachers’ skills for teaching”.

Alhaji Zakari noted that teachers were the first to receives their salary before any civil servant every month in the state, “this is the testimony of the governor Badaru’s commitments on education”.

“With present development ‎we succeeded in de-congestion of classes and schools which improved the teaching and learning atmospheres in most of our schools”.
