DBI, SBTS Group to create 50,000 jobs, upskill 5 million Nigerian youth by 2030

A groundbreaking partnership between Nigeria’s Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) and U.S.-based SBTS Group is set to transform the nation’s digital landscape, creating 50,000 jobs and equipping five million youth with essential digital skills by 2030.

The initiative, which aligns with the Federal Government’s National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (2020-2030), aims to close Nigeria’s digital skills gap and empower young people to compete in the global job market.

With Nigeria’s digital economy expanding rapidly across sectors like financial services, healthcare, entertainment, and ICT, the demand for tech-savvy professionals is at an all-time high. Yet, a critical shortage of skilled workers persists. This strategic collaboration is a direct response to that challenge, focusing on advanced digital literacy, coding, and vocational training.

DBI President/CEO, Mr. Daser David, described the initiative as a game-changer for Nigeria’s economic future. “Nigerian youth are the catalyst for transforming our nation. To shift from an agriculture-dependent economy to a thriving digital landscape, targeted IT upskilling is essential,” he said. “This initiative bridges opportunity gaps, providing digital training to underserved youth and driving inclusive economic growth.”

The partnership will see DBI campuses hosting Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centers, generating thousands of job opportunities. Evelyn Lewis, CEO of SBTS Group, emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youth.

“Despite the negativity and sense of hopelessness often portrayed, there are abundant opportunities in Nigeria. We are excited to collaborate with DBI in advancing the Federal Government’s agenda to train and equip unemployed youth with digital skills,” she stated.

Already, facility upgrades and training programs have commenced at DBI’s Enugu and Kano campuses, with additional locations set for rollout. SBTS Group will provide technical and financial support, ensuring globally competitive, industry-relevant training.

The initiative also promises to promote digital entrepreneurship, integrating over 400 new courses into training curricula and equipping youth with the skills to launch and scale businesses in the digital space.

“This landmark collaboration is not just about job creation; it is a strategic move to position Nigeria as a major player in the global digital economy. As the nation accelerates toward a tech-driven future, the DBI-SBTS partnership stands as a beacon of hope for millions of young Nigerians, ensuring sustainable employment, economic diversification, and long-term growth.” DBI added.
