Nigerian legendary Afrobeat singer, D’banj, is celebrating two decades in the music industry, marking a milestone filled with both triumphs and challenges.
Known for his dynamic presence and influential sound, D’banj has become a cornerstone of the Afrobeat genre.
Reflecting on his journey, D’banj noted, “There is nothing I haven’t seen as a music artist in 20 years. I have seen it all; the good and the other side of the industry and fame”.
In anticipation of his upcoming album, D’banj shared an encounter he had earlier this year.
“I met Peruzzi and Tekno at a concert in Bayelsa during Timaya’s concert, and we immediately connected on the idea of collaborating for my new project,” he recounted. This collaboration promises to bring a fresh and exciting sound to his fans.
One of D’banj’s most significant ventures outside of music has been his reality show, ‘Koko Mansion’.
The show’s first season was a massive success, earning him a million dollars.
“I would love to have season 2 of the reality show if investors come calling,” D’banj revealed, hinting at the potential return of the popular series.
As he celebrates this landmark achievement, D’banj said he would continue to use his platform to support young artistes as he does with the CREAM platform where he partnered with MTN to showcase African music talents to the world.
