Day CAC Ibadan taught parents, Christians how to overcome temptations

It was the celebration of the 48th children anniversary of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Ibadan, Oyo State and its environs as it turned out to be an event where faithful were reminded of the qualities of genuine Christians.

The venue of the annual event, C.A.C Ita-Baale Olugbode Missionary headquarters, Ibadan, was agog when children from 10 zones and dignitaries from all walks of life converged on the church for this year’s anniversary with the theme: “Christians and the end time challenges.”

Various activities performed by the children at the event, including sermons, song renditions, memory verse citations, among others, admonished against the increase in vices  in the society and also ways to avoid engaging in them.

During his sermon, one of the youths at the event,  Inioluwa Orepo, said that it was high time people lived in genuine love, righteousness, advising Christians to be wary of end time. He also charged other young Nigerians to abstain from sins and any activities that don’t glorify God.

He also advised parents to prevent their children from engaging in any form of ungodly act, saying they should always teach them in the way of the Lord and also keep monitoring their daily activities.

The event, which was anchored by some teenagers, also featured an intercession prayer for the nation, leaders at all levels, the body of Christ and also the unity of CAC.

According to the Chief Examiner of the Children and Teachers’ Association of CAC, Pastor Samuel Ogungbemi, the vision of the association was to instill good virtues and the word of God in the younger generation.

“Our goal is to make them good ambassadors of Christ and teach them on how to be rooted in Christ, because they are the future of the church and the best way is to catch them young. We thank God for the success we have recorded over the years and this year’s event is also an evidence of how much we have done and how much the younger generation love to flaunt their talents in the vineyard. This year’s examination is also a testament that the children are passionate about the word of God,” he said.

The auditorium came alive when a young lady, Esther Omisakin, from CAC Itura Academy was announced as person with the highest mark at this year’s church examination. Also, CAC Oke-Ife, Alakia, Ibadan, came first in the competition among 67 churches, while CAC Oke-Ife, Agbowo, headquarters and CAC Olugbode, Odo-Ona, came second and third respectively.

The matron of the association, Deaconess Christie Ogunranti, expressed delight on the success of the event, just as she noted that she was delighted on the commitment of the children to the work for God.

The patron of the children department, Pastor J. O Oladejo, acknowledged that the work of God has led to the growth of the children academically and spiritually.
