When I decided to release my own music I wanted to make sure that I bring across how proud I am of my African heritage and how influential African music has been for me. The name “Wine” draws inspiration from the Jamaican dance “dutty wine,” where the term is used as a double entendre. In the context of the song, “Wine it slowly” serves as a metaphor, urging listeners not to rush into things too fast but to choose wisely.
