Davido, Wizkid: The war is far from over!

Another cold war appears to be brewing between Davido and his counterpart, Wizkid, as information pieced together by R suggested the two superstars may have renewed their supremacy battle that raised dust for years.

At a time, when most of their fans thought the battle had ended, information R that feelers from the camps of the two in the last one week suggested otherwise.

It is not a hidden fact that the duo have struggled over the years to take their craft beyond the shores of the country with one attempting to outshine another as they engaged in collaborations with foreign acts in order to boost their popularity and acceptance outside Nigeria.

While Wizkid may have succeeded in having more successful foreign collaborations ahead of Davido over the years, with his latest song, Come Closer, which featured Drake being his latest effort, Davido, on the other hand, has succeeded in releasing more hit songs more than any other Nigerian artiste in the past few months, as his new songs IF and Fall have enjoyed more airplays in Nigeria and even outside the country.

Days back, what could be taken for another silent war between them played out again when the If crooner, Davido, threw the first verbal punch shortly after the release of Wizkid’s single, Sounds from the other side, when he took to his Snapchat to say, Nah ‘pon pon’ sounds dey reign now oooo! No Jonze, all other sounds na the least for now. Lmao!

But the Holla at Your Boy star would not keep mum as he fired back when he tweeted, “catch up or stay local.”

Although Wizkid later deleted some part of the tweet, but it had read, “The game is only for the real! Catch up or stay local! Don’t blame anybody for ur failures! Pray and work hard kids!” He equally tweeted, “U can’t hate on someone doing better than u in what u failed at! Learn and appreciate! Free ur mind from hate young kids.

And remember kids! Drink more water!!”.

None of them was willing to comment further on the percieved renewed supremacy battle but one thing that could be established is that the war may be far from over.
