Davido returns to studio after winning BET International Act

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, is making a new jam just after winning the 2018 BET Best International Acts award on Sunday.

According to his manager, Asa Asika, Omo Baba Olowo (OBO) returned to the studio to record a new song two days after winning the BET awards and on the night a celebratory party was organised in his honour in Nigeria.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Asika suggested that the If and Fia crooner, who is now synonymous with monster hit singles, is not resting on his oars in securing his place in the international music scene despite his current ranking in Africa.

With a tone of great admiration, Asika posted on twitter, “Nobody can tell me jack, David won a BET award two days ago and tonight he’s at home recording some new music by himself.”

Established by the Black Entertainment Television to recongise the best in African American culture and entertainment, the BET awards also marked out an international category for black music outside of the United States.

Davido was named the winner of the prestigious international category on Sunday, June 24 2018 at the Microsoft Theatre venue in Los Angeles, California.

The singer topped the category that included industry mate, Tiwa Savage and other international stars like Booba (France), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Dadju (France), Distruction Boyz (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (Dr Congo), J Hus (UK), Niska (France), Stefflon Don (UK) and Stormzy .

This year, Davido also made history as the first African to receive the award on stage and in the full glare of all the who-is-who in the Afro-American entertainment circle.

During his acceptance speech, Davido used the opportunity to seek more collaboration between US and African artistes as well as to condole with Dbanj, who recently lost his son.

The Assurance singer’s work ethic will certainly make his “Let’s collaborate everybody, let’s collaborate man” speech a feasible commitment.
