Kaycee, through his solicitor, Cromwell and Knight legal practitioners, threatened Davido in a legal letter, demanding for the proceed in the sum of 60 million naira being the cost of long gold and diamond chain and wristwatch sold by Davido on his behalf.
The letter alleged stated that Davido approached their client (Kaycee), a jeweller that a close friend of his dad, who resides in the UK, was interested in buying a gold chain and wristwatch for personal use.
It claimed that due to longstanding relationship between its client and Davido, the jewellery was released to Davido for delivery to his dad’s friend in the UK with the agreement that the proceeds of the sale shall be returned to their client in Lagos State.
It stated further its client paid Davido’s travelling expenses from Lagos to Ghana and from Ghana to UK with the sum of 2,300 pounds sterling in order to ensure the smooth delivery of the jewellery to the intended buyer.
It alleged that “Davido has refused to pay our client the sum of N60 million being the proceeds of the sale of the said jewellery since 2011 despite repeated demands by our client.”

To confirm the authenticity of the said letter, R, on Friday put a call through to Kaycee’s solicitor, Mohammed Omolola, who claimed that his firm indeed wrote the letter and dispatched it to Davido’s house located at Lekki, Lagos State.
Shortly after the letter was released online, Davido, who took to the Instagram page to react simply wrote “Lmaooo” and has refused to further comment on the matter. It is believed that his lawyer would speak in the coming week.
Asked if he was aware of Davido’s reaction, Mohammed said Davido may continue to laugh for whatever reason. “You know Davido for who he is. If the letter was not genuine, he would come out to deny it publicly. That he wrote Lmaooo in the comment section of the post suggested that he knew about the issue.”
According to Mohammed: “Everything you have read about the letter is true. He has refused to pay our client (Kaycee) the sum of N60 million and he approached us to write Davido so that both parties could reach a compromise but the seven-day ultimatum had lapsed. No one has called me from anywhere on this matter but Sunday Tribune. I am glad you did call to confirm,” he said.
He stated further that he expected them “to reach out to us through Davido’s lawyer but since they have refused to do that, we are left with no option but to institute an action in a court of law for the recovery of our client’s money, damages, interest and cost of litigation.”
