Davido hits back at detractors, says they try to discredit his hard work

Published by

Nigerian music sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has addressed ongoing criticisms aimed at undermining his hard-earned success in the music industry.

Despite his undeniable talent and achievements, Davido has consistently faced skepticism from some quarters, particularly regarding his affluent background.

The Afrobeat icon, born into a wealthy family, has often been the subject of social media chatter suggesting that his success is solely attributed to his family’s financial status.

However, in a recent statement, Davido expressed frustration at the persistent efforts to discredit his dedication and musical prowess.

“They all come together to discredit me… but God working overtime! 2024 YEAR OF THE BEAST!!” Davido asserted, seemingly firing back at those who have doubted his merit and downplayed his accomplishments.

The statement comes amidst ongoing discussions questioning Davido’s legitimacy as a self-made artiste, with some detractors suggesting that his privileged upbringing provided an unfair advantage in the competitive music industry.

Despite the adversity, Davido has continued to rise to prominence through his relentless work ethic, innovative sound, and captivating performances.

Davido noted that he has amassed a legion of fans worldwide and achieved numerous accolades, solidifying his status as one of Africa’s most influential music stars.

As he embarks on the journey through 2024, Davido appears undeterred by the naysayers, declaring it the “Year of the Beast.”
