The Dangote Group is set to commission its multimillion-dollar Dangote Cement Plc Skills Development Centre in Lokoja, Kogi State, designed to support the state government in empowering the youth and accelerating economic development across Nigeria.
According to the Corporate Communications Department (CCD) of the Group, the Skills Development Centre is part of a series of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives offered to the public.
The Plant Director of Dangote Cement Plc, Engr. Azad Nawabuddin, quoted by the CCD, stated that the Centre will not only contribute to Nigeria’s industrialization by facilitating the transfer of essential skills needed for the country’s advancement but also significantly create job opportunities for Nigerian youths, who will be the primary beneficiaries of this state-of-the-art facility.
“Dangote Cement Plc is a socially responsible company, committed to implementing various developmental programs for our host communities. We have an active Community Development Agreement (CDA) in place, ensuring that we coexist harmoniously.

Additionally, we have implemented various empowerment schemes totaling billions of naira,” Nawabuddin said.
He also listed development projects delivered to the communities by the Group, including the construction of Nigeria’s longest concrete road, stretching from Obajana to Kabba, worth several billions of naira; the establishment of a multimillion-naira clinic in Iwaa; and the provision of essential amenities such as water, electricity, and healthcare facilities.
