The Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative (CYFI) is calling for applications its 2017 fellowship programme. The fellowship application is open to all citizens and permanent residents of Nigeria currently residing in Lagos, the CYFI said.
CYFI is a dynamic youth-based initiative launched in 2011 by the U.S. Consulate General, Lagos, which brings together Nigerian youth of “exceptional vision, skills and experience to design and implement projects that have a positive impact on Nigerian society.”
The application, which closes on Dec 31, seeks young people and social entrepreneurs who are passionately committed to making a significant contribution to their community and country; people with unique skill and experience that they can use to make an impact and those with strategy thinking, who areexcited about the opportunity to launch an innovative CYFI project.
The organisers say they are looking for people who know how to design a project that is based on sound research, uses resources creatively, builds or improves on existing systems, and leverages partnerships with complimentary organisations; and people with vision, who know the area of social change in which you would like to work, and you can articulate the positive change that they would like to make.
In addition to providing biographical information, applicants will be asked to complete a hypothetical scenario, the organisers said.
Successful applicants will be interviewed in January 2017 and would be notified in February 2017 whether they were selected or not.
Application for the fellowship is done online.
