The Managing Director, Rubitec Nigeria Limited, Bolade Soremekun, said the decision of the firm, in partnership with Renewable Tech Nigeria, to organise free training in renewable energy solutions, for engineers and technicians in the country, is to enable them gain invaluable skills and contribute to the nation’s journey towards a cleaner, greener future.
He explained that the training, tagged: ‘Polarstore Cold Storage Solution Training’, which is expected to hold in the first quarter of next year, would offer a unique opportunity for engineers and technicians to gain hands-on expertise in implementing and maintaining solar hybrid cooling system.
Soremekun, described the programme as part of the firm’s ambitious mission to drive the adoption of renewable energy solutions in Nigeria with a specific focus on enhancing off-grid containerised cold storage systems and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
“This initiative is aimed at addressing the critical energy challenges in Nigeria’s agri-food sector by introducing sustainable solutions to power cold storage efficiently and responsibly,” he stated.
Soremekun believed, as a flagship project under the Dutch Government’s BHOS strategy, the training is expected to combine the technical prowess of Nigerian and Dutch renewable energy experts, thus creating a platform for innovation, collaboration, and skill development.
He noted that the training would afford technicians, marketing experts and other stakeholders to learn about the installation, maintenance, and operation of solar-hybrid systems and gain insights from top experts in the renewable energy sector.
