C/River industry hub one of the best in Africa ―Osinbajo

ACTING President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has described the Cross River State industrial hub as one of the best in Africa, saying that it would enhance economic development in the country.

Professor Osinbajo who stated this in Calabar, the state capital on Thursday during a two-day working visit said the industrial hub which comprises of the garment factory, Calapharm, rice city, among others will help in fast tracking economic development in the country.

He said, “Industrialization is important if we must achieve massive development in the country and I think what I have witnessed here today in Calabar is one of the best industrial hub in Africa which would fast track economic development in the country’’.

The Acting President also commended the state governor, Senator Ben Ayade for his development strides for the state, adding that the industrial hub would contribute immensely in the provision of employment for the teeming population of unemployed youths.

This came as he also performed the ground breaking ceremony for the Cross River industrial park as well as the commissioning of the garment factory.

Also speaking, governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade said industrialization of the state was one of the cardinal objectives of his administration, saying he was on a mission to stamp out unemployment.

Ayade said, “When I took over the mantle of leadership I made a promise that my administration would embark on massive development of the state and today we have taken a leap of faith by embarking on the construction of an industrial hub which encompasses the garment factory, the rice city and the Calapharm. We are committed to the transformation of the state and we know we will achieve what we have set out to do’’.
