Cross River State Electrification Agency (SEA) has initiated the rehabilitation and electrification project in the Bekwarra Local Government Area of the state, following directives from the state governor, Prince Bassey Otu.
Recently, the governor authorised the SEA to begin the electrification process in Bekwarra, prompting Director-General, Mr. Francis Ekpo to mobilise engineers to the site.
In line with Otu’s dedication to addressing the community’s needs, he has expressed concern regarding the local electricity situation and mandated a comprehensive overhaul of the power lines.
The initiation of this project demonstrates the governor’s commitment to his promises to residents of Bekwarra and supports his “People’s First Agenda.”
Ekpo is also seeking the collaboration of Bekwarra’s various communities as the engineers work to fulfill both the governor’s directives and the SEA’s mission to provide electricity to every part of the state.
He urged the chiefs, elders, youths and all community members to take responsibility for protecting the equipment and installations once they are in place to prevent vandalism.
