CRIN Executive Director, Adebola bags NANS award for his leadership, transformative strive in agric industry

The Executive Director of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), Dr. Patrick Adebola has bagged  Icon of Hope Award by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)

While presenting him with the prestigious honour, NANS National Senate Clerk ,

Oladimeji Uthman , stated that the award is in recognition of Adebola’s outstanding leadership and transformative strides within the agricultural industry institution.

Adding that the award is also in recognition of Adebola’s commitment to revitalizing CRIN, enhancement of research efficiency and fostering innovation within the agricultural sector, particularly in cocoa production and development.

“This award, presented by the National Association of Nigerian Students is a testament to the Director’s commitment to revitalizing CRIN, enhancing research efficiency, and fostering innovation within the agricultural sector, particularly in cocoa production and development. Since assuming office, he has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to repositioning the agency as a leading research institute, not only in Nigeria but across the world.

“Under his stewardship, CRIN has witnessed commendable improvements, including:

Strengthening research initiatives aimed at increasing cocoa yield and sustainability.

Enhancing collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers.

“Providing opportunities for student researchers and young agronomists to engage in practical field experience.

Promoting staff welfare and institutional development for greater efficiency.

“The National Association of Nigerian Students acknowledges that Dr. Patrick Adebola’s leadership has significantly contributed to the advancement of Nigeria’s agricultural sector, thereby reinforcing the nation’s position in global cocoa production. As the voice of Nigerian students, NANS unequivocally passes a Vote of Confidence on the Executive Director, affirming our belief in his ability to drive further progress and ensure CRIN continues on its trajectory of excellence.

“We hereby call on stakeholders within the agricultural and educational sectors to support his vision for a more research-driven and innovative agricultural industry, which will, in turn, create more opportunities for students and youths in the sector.
