The newly appointed Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has unveiled his policing Plan and Model, which focuses on Practical Intelligence, Technology-driven Tactical Operations in the State.
This plan was presented to relevant stakeholders, including officers and men of the Command.
Addressing the Sectional Heads in the Operations Department at the Command’s Headquarters in Amawbia on Thursday, the CP directed the creation of Field Operations Surveillance Centers and Field Operations Retraining Centers within the Area Commands.
He also directed the training of officers in the use of drones for surveillance, as well as refresher courses in weapon handling, musketry, and other monitoring devices.
These measures are aimed at preventing crime and guiding investigations when crimes are committed.

Furthermore, the CP reiterated his stance against professional misconduct, particularly extortion and other forms of street-level corruption. He urged officers to supervise personnel in their respective sections/units, emphasizing that the Command under his watch would not tolerate any form of unprofessional conduct by police personnel.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge of Intelligence, and heads of tactical units, including the Commander of Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD), the Commander of the Anti-kidnapping/Rapid Response Squad, and the Commander of the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, among others.
