COVID:19: Lagos seals off Jumia warehouse, Chinese firm, brothel, others for violating lockdown order.

Officials of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), on Wednesday, sealed off business outfits which violated the presidential order, locking the state down for 14 days, over the spiralling coronavirus epidemic.

The agency is one of the government outfits, collaborating on joint task force basis, to enforce the lockdown order, under the umbrella of Lagos State Safety Commission.

On its verified twitter account, LASEPA disclosed that a warehouse belonging to the popular on-line mall, Jumia, was one of the businesses that came under the hammer.

A Chinese firm was also listed as well as a brothel, among others.

The number of arrested violators wasn’t mentioned and when Tribune Online reached out to the public affairs unit, the head, Mrs. Bola Ajao said she was preparing a statement which will soon be released to the media.

The agency has also placed a complaint form on its twitter handle, to seek information about those violating the social distancing regulation of the state government.

The notice encouraged members of the public to report any gathering exceeding the approved number of 20.

“If you notice any gathering which violates the directives of the Lagos State Government on social gathering limits, kindly fill this form via the link below” the notification read.
