This was disclosed by the Coordinator, State Operations Coordination Unit (SOCU), Malam Mustapha Umar, during a meeting with civil society organisations and media.

The meeting was organised by Children Development Grant Programme (CDGP).

Umar said, “Out of the figure, 3583 are people living with disabilities (PWD)”.

He explained that the Rapid Response Register was introduced to identify people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic economically.

Umar noted the Federal Government selected 13,912 beneficiaries drawn from 535 communities in 12 political wards of eight local government areas in the state.

He said, “Each beneficiary will receive a total of N30,000 in six instalments monthly”, adding that “the local government areas are Babura, Birniwa, Kafin Hausa, Gwaram, Jahun, Hadejia, Dutse and Malam Madori.”

The coordinator, therefore, enjoined civil society organisations and the media to continue sensitizing the populace on the need to register.
