COVID-19: KEDCO donates N2m, food items to Jigawa govt

The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has presented a N2 million bank draft, 1,000 bags of 10kg rice and cooking oil as a palliative to Jigawa State government.

Presenting the palliative materials to the Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, the Managing Director of company, Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, commended the proactive measures taken by the Jigawa State government in combating COVID-19 pandemic.

The Managing Director represented by chief operating officer, Mr Bujai Kumar Senwari, said the palliatives was aimed to cushion the impact of the pandemic on citizens.

He said all hands must be on deck as no government can handle the issue alone.

Responding Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar expressed appreciation to KEDCO for the gesture and pledged to ensure judicious distribution of the donated items.

The palliatives include 1,000 of rice, 1,000 of vegetable oil and a bank draft cheque of two million naira.
