FOUR indigenes of Okhoromi in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State were on Monday, restrained by a Benin High Court from acts of further trespass on the communal lands of Egbirhe village.
The four persons who were restrained from acting on behalf of Okhoromi village by Justice Esther Edigin are Mr John Edosomwan, Joseph Igbinovia, Ovbokhan Igbinovia and Isaac Osagie.
Ruling on a motion exparte for an order of interim injunction, the court held that it was satisfied that the claimants met the conditions for the granting of the injunction.
Justice Edigin also restrained the defendants their agents, servants, privies and/ or any other persons connected to them from further tampering with the entire Egbirhe communal lands by way of alienation and destruction of buildings thereon.
According to the court, the ruling is pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
Hearing on the motion for interlocutory injunction was adjourned to July 22, 2019.
