An Osun State High Court sitting in Ilesa has ordered an interim injunction restraining the Ogboni of Ipole-Ijesa, Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde Oyeleye, from installing Dr. Olatunde Oginni as the Oba of Oranpon.
The court, presided by Justice M.A. Lasisi, restrained Oba Oyebade Oyeleye and any of his chiefs or agents from installing Oginni as Oloranpon of Oranpon.
The court gave the order on Thursday, March 21.
The plaintiffs in the suit with number HIL/5/2024 included Oba Adedapo Samson Adewuyi (Likure of Odogbo), Chief Benjamin Arogundade (Odofin of Odogbo), Chief Adegbayibi Adenipekun (Saba of Odogbo) and Chief Adekanmi Adesuji (Sajuku of Odogbo).
The defendants are Dr. Olatunde Oginni and Oba Oyebade Samson Kehinde Oyeleye (Ogboni of Ipole-ljesa).

After the application and affidavit of Oba Adedapo Samson Adewuyi were read on Thursday, and the movement of an ex-parte application by the counsel for the claimants/applicant, Omoniyi Odeyemi Esq, in terms of motion papers, the presiding judge ordered an interim injunction restraining the second defendant or any person whosoever from installing the first defendant or any person whosoever as the Oloranpon of Oranpon or Oba of Oranpon.
According to the enrolment of order made available to journalists on Tuesday, the court pronounced that “1st and 2nd defendants are hereby restrained as well as any person whosoever from installing or approving and/or appointment or nomination of the 1st defendant or any person whosoever as the Oloranpon of Oranpon or Oba of Oranpon.
The judge then adjourned the case until May 9 for mention.
