Court restrains Bola Audu from parading self as ASCSN president

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) sitting in Abuja on Tuesday, ordered the erstwhile president of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Mr Innocent Bola Audu, to desist from parading himself or acting in any capacity as the national president of the union.

“Upon considering the affidavit of urgency and affidavit in support of this motion esparto deposed to by Comrade Ojemhenke Isaac sworn to on 31st July 2024, and after hearing the learned Counsel to the claimant move the said application.

“It is hereby ordered that an order of interim injunction is granted restraining the 2nd Respondent (Innocent Bola Audu) from parading himself or acting in the capacity of the President of the Applicant (ASCSN) pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.” Justice R.B. Haastrup ruled.

This judgment followed a suit, No: NICN/ABJ/220/2024 filed at the court by the Association of the Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria as the claimant and applicant, against Comrade Innocent Bola Audu, that sought for order of interim injunction restraining the duo from parading himself from himself as the national president of ASCSN and from meddling or interfering with the affairs and management of the union.

Bola Audu is a civil servant in the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, who is being prosecuted by the Federal Republic of Nigeria through NAPTIP at the Court of Appeal in appeal No: CA/AB/CR/704/23, on suspected case of human trafficking and exploitation of the vulnerable.

He was equally suspended and was later expelled as a member and president of the Senior Civil Servants Association of Nigeria over anti-union activities.

Equally, he was recently arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) at FCT High Court Maitama for alleged N72 million fraud.
