An FCT High Court, Maitama, on Monday reserved judgment in false assets declaration suit filed by ICPC against Mr Henry Ogolo of National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The judge, Justice Umar Sadiq, after listening to submissions of counsel, said the date would be communicated to parties.
Mr John-Paul Okwor, the prosecuting counsel, after adopting his written address, urged the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly.
Okwor said that the defendant contravened Section 25 (1) (A) and punishable under 25 (1) (B) of the Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Act 2000.
Mr Anthony Agbonlahor, counsel to the defendant, prayed the court to discharge and acquit the defendant.
Ogolo was accused of under-declaring his assets in a statement he made to the police, after a petition was written against him.
The petition was filed in 2013 by an NSCDC commandant, who alleged that Ogolo sold land belonging to the NSCDC cooperative to the general public without permission.
According to the prosecution, Ogolo misled the commissioner of oaths by not stating clearly all his assets.
