The Police prosecutor, Inspector Abiodun Fagboyinbo informed the court presided over by Magistrate O. A. Oloyade that the accused and others at large conspired to commit a felony for stealing on May 19, 2018, at about 1.05 pm during a wedding reception held inside Capital Hotel, Osogbo.
According to him, the accused allegedly stole Techno 7c tablet handset, belonging to one Shittu Saheed Adesina, who was the groom during the wedding reception.
Fagboyinbo argued that the offence contravened Section 516 and punishable under Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume 11, Laws of Osun State, 2003.
But, the accused pleaded not guilty to a 2-count charge, referring to conspiracy and a felony for stealing, just as he requested a summary trial of the case.
His defence counsel, Barrister Najite Okobe urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal and affordable terms.
Magistrate Oloyade subsequently granted the accused person bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety, adding that the surety must swear to an affidavit of means and should provide evidence of tax payments.
The matter was adjourned to June 7 for hearing and the accused was moved to Ilesa prison following his inability to perfect his bail conditions.
