Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Cousin Adams told the court that the defendant committed the offence on June 17, about 7.30p.m, at his residence.
He said that the defendant stabbed his neighbour, Mr Abubakar Asale, 37, with a knife on the left side of his neck during a fight.
A fight, he said, broke out between the deceased and defendant.
Adams said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which prescribes a death sentence for the offender.
