A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, on Monday, ordered the remand of a 35-year-old man, Sadiq Ibrahim, who pleaded guilty to a count charge of stealing cables worth N200,000.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.M. Olumide-Fusika, remanded Ibrahim in the Ikoyi Custodial Centre after he pleaded guilty.
Olumide-Fusika adjourned the case until Feb. 28 for review of the facts and sentencing.

The prosecutor, ASP Ben Ekundayo, earlier told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 11, at 1:00a.m. at Plot. 1224, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Ekundayo said that the defendant stole cables belonging to Niger State Government.
According to him, stealing contravenes Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, and attracts three years’ imprisonment.
