A Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered that an applicant, Lawrence Ajayi, be remanded in Oke-Kura Prison for allegedly stealing jewellery worth N772.750 from a hotel guest.
The police charged Ajayi, who resides on No. 32, Surulere, Olunlade, Ilorin with conspiracy, armed robbery, causing grievous hurt and belonging to an unlawful society.
Chief Magistrate A.M Ibrahim, who gave the order, adjourned the case until May 13, for further mention.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Nasir Yusuf, told the court that on April 8, one Rasheed Salau of number 54, Kasim Ibrahim old GRA, Ilorin reported the case at SARS Office Ilorin.
Yusuf said that the defendant, along with Babatunde Ibrahim alias ”Sidof” and Christopher Segun, alias ”Carlo”, now at large, robbed the complainant who lodged at the Feebeekay Guest House, Ita-alamu, Ilorin.
He said that they stormed the hotel with dangerous weapons, such as gun, knife, cutlass and axe and stole the complainant’s gold ring, earring and chain worth N772.750.
He also said that they stole an MTN WiFi, valued at N22,000
Yusuf said that police investigations revealed that the accused person, belonged to the ”Eiye secret cult”.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 97, 245, Law 6B and 1(2) of robbery and firearms act.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge.
