Court fixes April 17 for judgment on the removal of Ondo APC chair.

THE Federal High Court sitting in Akure, Ondo State Capital has fixed April 17 for judgement in the suit filed Gboyega Adedipe and Desmond Dejumola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the removal of the Chairman of the party in the state, Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke.

Adedipe and Dojumola who are the member of the state executive of the Party had headed to the court to challenge the removal of Kekememke as the party Chairman and the appointment of Ade Adetimehin as the Acting Chairman of the party in the state.

A disciplinary Committee set up by the State Executive Committee(SEC) of the party last year,  indicted Kekemeke of anti-party affairs and recommended his removal as the party Chairman.

In the Suit No; FHC/AK/CS/45/2017, the plaintiffs Messrs through their counsel, Mr Olu Akinola, who argued that argued that the disciplinary committee set up by the party to investigate the chairman was unconstitutional

In his submission, lawyer to Mr Adetimehin and the APC, Mr Femi Emodamori argued that the two plaintiffs lack locus standi to instituted the case because they had resigned their membership and defected to the Alliance for Democracy (AD)

He said the duo of Adedipe and Dejumola had resigned as the party’s State Vice Chairman (Ondo Central) and the state Legal Adviser respectively, since 2016.

Mr Emodamori prayed the Court to dismissed the suit since the plaintiffs had also failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the APC executive meeting where Mr Kekemeke was suspended was not properly constituted.

Also Counsel to the Disciplinary Committee, Mr Charles Titiloye also said the case lack merit and prayed the Court to see the plaintiffs as busybodies who had left APC for another political party and failed to join necessary parties in the case.

The Presiding Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice J. A. Olubanjo, however, adjourned the case till April 17, 2018, for judgement.
