An Area Court sitting at Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State has dissolved the Islamic marriage between a couple, Jimoh Kauthar and Jimoh Bashir based on their agreement.
The presiding judge, Hammad Ajumonbi, while delivering judgment, stated that the husband sent a consent letter to the court, agreeing to the divorce application of his wife.
Ajumonbi read out the letter which said “l, Jimoh Bashir have released Jimoh Kauthar and left the child in her custody. I will be paying N10,000 monthly for maintenance and feeding”.
The judge, thereby, dissolved the Islamic marriage between the two parties and ordered the woman to observe three months iddah (waiting) period before she remarrying.
