Court dismisses suit by Yari’s APC faction over dissolution

The Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State has dismissed the case filed by the All Progressives Congress faction of former governor Abdul Aziz Yari, challenging the dissolution of the state party’s executives by Mai Mala Buni.

In his ruling on Friday, the Presiding Judge, Justice Aminu Bappa noted that the court has dismissed the case for lack of jurisdiction.

According to Justice Bappa,  the case filed by the Yari’s APC faction was purely an internal crisis, which should have been resolved by the party. 

“This is purely an internal crisis. It is a party affair, as such, the case is hereby dismissed because this honourable court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the case,” said Bappa.

Meanwhile, The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State recognized by the national leadership of APC has commended the judiciary for standing by the truth over falsehood. 

The state chairman, Tukur Umar Danfulani who was reacting to the court’s ruling in favour of the governor, Bello Matawalle noted that today’s judgement affirmed that the judiciary has once again stood on the path of the truth against falsehood. 

In a statement issued by the Public Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau on Friday, noted that the judgement was an affirmation of the leadership of the APC under His Excellency, Mai-Mala Buni that he is abreast with the provisions of the party’s constitution. 

“Having thrashed out the case, it goes further to say that the nation’s judicial system still gives hope to the innocent, the rightful and the hopeless. 

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara state will continue to be guided by its party’s constitution in carrying out all its activities.

“We commend the patience and understanding of our genuine party members during the court case, it concluded.
