Corps members enjoined to render selfless service

MEMBERS of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been enjoined to join hands with the government in rendering efficient services in areas of health care, education, social and infrastructural development as well as promotion of information communication technology knowledge among teeming youths in the state.
The charge was made by the Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abubakar during the closing of the orientation camp for Corps members posted to Bauchi and Gombe States for the 2018 Batch ‘B’ stream II service year held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wailo.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Audu Sule Katagum said that” We will spare no effort in ensuring that your expertise, competence and creative minds are fully explored and redirected towards making our states the pride of the Nation. Furthermore, I urge you to pursue with more vigor the post-camp training component of the skills acquisition programme that you started during the orientation course”.
 In his address to the Corps members, the State NYSC Coordinator, Afolayan James charged the Corps members to be guided by the motto and objectives of the scheme during their service year so that they could contribute positively to national development.
Afolayan James who noted that the youths had in the course of the three weeks orientation exercise underwent training in Leadership techniques, drills, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development urged them to make good use of the knowledge acquired to bring development to their host communities.
“Also ensure that you respect the customs, traditions and general ways of life of your host communities so that you can genuinely identify with them and contribute to their development’, he advised them.
