The presentation of the vehicle was done at the Uber Greenlight Hub in the capital city of Abuja.
The driver-partner, who was represented by a close friend communicated his surprise and gratitude to the management of Uber in Nigeria.
“I’ve recently just concluded the mandatory National Youth Corps Service (NYSC), program and decided to take advantage of the opportunities presented by being an Uber driver-partner; I was consistent in it and I’m glad it paid off.
“Winning a brand new car gives me the option of maximizing my earnings on the taxi platform, and will ensure that my riders are very comfortable.”
“The month-long competition was open to all driver-partners with active accounts in Abuja” explained Osi Oguah; Senior Driver Operations Manager for Nigeria, Uber.
A brand new car was also presented to a driver-partner in Lagos last week according to Francesca Uriri of Uber’s West Africa Communications section.
“The winner of the uberFREEKICK competition needed to complete 40 trips per week in Lagos or Abuja during the competition period, in addition to meeting other criteria.
“We are glad to see that consistent and committed driver-partners were impacted positively by the competition,” said Osi Oguah, rounding off.
Commenting on the competition, Lola Kassim; General Manager West Africa, Uber said: “Our unique brand proposition at Uber is that we are committed to creating business and economic opportunities, especially for driver-partners.

In the previous week, a brand new car was presented to a driver-partner in Lagos.
In addition to the brand new cars, other driver-partners who qualified during the uberFREEKICK competition were presented consolation prizes ranging from LED televisions, Refrigerators, and Generators.
Uber recently commemorated its fourth year of operations in Lagos.
