The Coalition of Nigerian Youths on Security & Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) has hosted the Lagos State Youths Multi-Stakeholders Summit on Crime Reduction and Prevention to tackle crime in Lagos State.
The event which was held on Thursday at Ikeja Youth Center, Ikeja, Lagos State was organised in collaboration with various security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force, Nigerian Army, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency , department of State Services , DSS,and other federal and state institutions.
The summit witnessed interactive sessions by keynote speakers and dignitaries who shared experience and insights on security and safety matters.
Speaking, the Director General, CONYSSA,
Ambassador Ade Emmanuel , stated that the event is meant to bring together key stakeholders and youths to tackle pressing security issues in the state.
He added that the events is necessary for the prevention and reduction Of crime in the state and Nigeria at large .
“With the collective efforts of all participants, this summit forged a path towards a safer, more secure Lagos State.
“The summit is aimed at integrating youths in the fighting against crime, violent extremism, drug abuse and other social vices across Lagos State.
“Today’s event addressed pressing issues by engaging young minds and stakeholders in meaningful dialogue and action.
In his brief remarks, the Chairman of the event, Ambassador Rotimi George -Taylor emphasized the importance of youth involvement in security initiatives.
“Our youths are the bedrock of our society. Engaging them in meaningful dialogue and actions, will harness their potentials to create a safer and more secure Lagos,” he added.
