“We are proud of this partnership and we want to also tell them that in our record, we never had any abandoned project anywhere. We have projects similar to this and even bigger in all the six geo-political zones of the country. We are going to deliver the project timely and of a high standard.”

The Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Professor Idowu Olayinka, in his address stated that: “As a candidate for the position of Vice- Chancellor in 2014/2015, I went round this university to ask our colleagues what they considered their most pressing needs. The two faculties with the most acute shortage of office space for staff and lecture rooms for students were Arts and Education.

“Knowing full well that there is an acute shortage of staff offices and lecture rooms, it did not take so much persuasion to devote our entire 2015/2016 TETFund capital project to this new facility.

On completion, it would comprise six storeys (five suspended floors) with one 200 capacity lecture hall, three 150 capacity lecture halls, lecturer’s offices, toilets, utility rooms, service rooms etc. I am optimistic that by the time this project is completed, it would alleviate the problems faced by our staff and students in the Faculty of Arts.”
