Comrade Eriyo emerges as RTEAN new National President

COMRADE Osakpamwan Eriyo has emerged as the new National President of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the National Secretary of the association, Yusuf Adeniyi, who said the President emerged at the end of an exhaustive deliberation by the stakeholders and principal National executives of the association.

Adeniyi also disclosed that suspension and subsequent expulsion of the former Chairman of RTEAN in Lagos State, Alhaji Musa Muhammed, has been reversed and reinstated as state chairman of Lagos State and Deputy National President (admin)

He said his reinstatement was as a result of intervention by critical interest groups, stakeholders and individuals saying his return has been ratified by the NEC, while all pending litigation s had been withdrawn.

The statement reads in part: ‘’After a very critical review of the prevailing circumstance in the Association, as it relates to the change of its leadership, a Vote of Confidence has been further passed on Comrade Eriyo, as the executive national president of the association.

“The restored Lagos State chairman/Deputy President (admin) has been directed to receive and accept other members in the state into the fold of the Lagos State chapter of the association as recommended by NEC.

‘’The caretaker committee initially constituted to run the affairs of the state when the ban was in place is hereby dissolved and withdrawn henceforth.

‘’All security agencies, governments and relevant ministries will be issued with written information on all issues as far raised.’’

The statement said that the restored state chairman/deputy national president (admin) is required by the NEC to resume office, urging him to show commitment and dedication to duty as ever.

It added that the already printed tickets in possession of Muhammed should be brought back or submitted to the headquarters in Abuja without further delay.
