Company petitions CP, task force on landgrabbers

A Lagos State based company, Tolls System Development Company Limited, has petitioned the state Commissioner of Police and the chairman of the Special  Task Force Committee on land grabbing over the activities of miscreants on its property in Ibeju Lekki area of the state.

The company, in two letters dated 19th December 2016, accused the landgrabbers of forcefully taking over its 156.20 hectares of land in Lakowe area of Ibeju Lekki.

Tolls System urged the commissioner of police and the task force to stop what it described as “ unprecedented destruction of properties.”

The petitioner accused the landgrabbers and their thugs of boasting to have the support of the police in the state and that they would kill anybody over the land.

“The basis of  our petition is that the above named persons have sponsored hundreds of thugs armed with weapons and are presently on the said land, destroying fences, violently chasing out our client’s staff from the land,” the petition stated.

“We humbly pray your good office to urgently send security personnel, attached to your office to stop this unprecedented destruction of properties contrary to the provision of Lagos State Properties Protection Law 2016,” the petitioner pleaded.
