The movement in a statement by its president, Segun Arogundade, and made available to TribuneOnline, noted that there were lots of unresolved issues in the political landscape of the State that could make it disastrous to abandon lecturing for politics.
According to the statement, the Kogi State University lecturer had been of tremendous help towards the development of the community and its people.
Besides, the people cautioned Orugun, who would soon be due for promotion as an associate professor, from abandoning his flourishing career for an electoral contest that he was not certain of winning.
The movement said that it could not forget in a hurry the role usually played by Orugun in assisting Ijumu indigenes to secure admission at the Kogi State University, saying it would be wrong of such efforts to be threaded for uncertainty.
The movement warned the versatile lecturer not to thread his highly exalted office for the house of representatives election that would be a herculean task to win, except by the stroke of luck and God.
It, however, commended him for his courage in wanting to change the course of improving the lot of his people with the ADC ticket but urged him to think deeply before resigning his appointment for the contest.
