Community organises prayer for Tambuwal’s court victories

The residents of Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State, on Monday, offered a special prayer for the state governor, Rt Hon Aminu Tambuwal’s electoral victory at the Supreme Court victories.

The prayers session was conducted at the Community’s Central Jummat Mosque and was attended by Islamic clerics, community leaders, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bigwigs as well as the party supporters.

The Chief Imam, Alhaji Lemo Faruk Yabo, who led other clerics, expressed gratitude to God for making Tambuwal’s victory at the election tribunal, Appeal Court and Supreme Court a success.

The clerics also prayed to God to guide and protect the governor in the discharge of his duties as well as grant continuous peace and stability to the state and country at large.

Speaking with journalists shortly, Deputy Speaker of Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon Abubakar Magaji, said the leadership virtue exhibited by Tambuwal since the inception of his government had earned him wider support from people of the state, irrespective of their political affiliations.

Magaji also reiterated the House’s commitment to a harmonious relationship with the executive arm of the government of the state.

“One of the support given to the State Executive led by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was the speedy passage into law, 2020 appropriation bill. That shows the harmonious relationship existing between executive and the legislative,” the lawmaker explained.

The Deputy Speaker assured that the expectations of electorates will be met by the present administration. He restated that citizens welfare had already been prioritised in this year’s budget, urging more supports and prayers for the State Governor.

The lawmaker, however, commended the people of Yabo community for their prayers and supports to Tambuwal’s administration.

He reiterated that as lawmakers saddled with the primary responsibility of making laws for good governance and peace, the House will not relent in offering adequate and affordable representative to the electorates.

Magaji, however, called on the opposition in the state to embrace the olive branch offered by the Governor Tambuwal and join hands with him in moving the state forward.

Dignitaries at the session include Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Hon Abdullahi Maigwadu, his Establishment and Service Matters counterpart, Hon Sani Bunu Yabo and former Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Jabbi Kilgori.

Others were Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, Alhaji Umar Abdullahi Gadawa, erstwhile Executive Chairman, State Universal Primary Education Board, Alhaji Bello Danchadi and Yabo Local Government Council officials among others.
