Gombe SSG, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi receiving the letter of appreciation from the traditional ruler
The Dogon-Ruwa Community Development Association (DCDA) in Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe State has lauded the State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for his massive infrastructural development projects in the state and in Dogon-Ruwa in particular.
Conveying the community’s gratitude to the Governor through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, and the Village Head of Dogon-Ruwa, Alhaji Bashar Isa, also appealed to the Governor for more intervention in some critical sectors bedevilling the community.
He cited erosion as a serious threat to the lives and property of the community, hence an appeal for the government’s intervention to salvage the community from being totally washed away by flood waters from the Dogon-Ruwa River bank.
Responding to the plea, the SSG, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said that the administration of Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, being sensitive to the plight of its citizens, will immediately send a team of experts to assess the level of threat with a view to finding a lasting solution.
Abubakar Njodi appreciated the Dogon Ruwa Community for its support of the Inuwa Yahaya-led administration and was assured of the governor’s efforts to reach all communities with developmental programmes.
In the same vein, the people of the Kwali community in Yalmatu/Deba LGA of Gombe State have expressed happiness over the construction and donation of a new block of classrooms to the existing school in the community.
The block of classrooms was built and donated by a renowned politician, businessman, and philanthropist in Gombe State, Dr. Bala Bello Tinka.
He officially commissioned and handed over the structure to the Education Secretary of the area as part of his contributions to the educational development of the area.
The Emir of Yamaltu, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, who spoke on behalf of the community, expressed appreciation to the politician for the project.
The Emir said that it was a laudable project that would impact immensely on the people of the area, particularly children who are yearning to go to school.
While commissioning the building, Bala Bello Tinka, who is the chief executive officer of a construction company, ‘Tinka Point Limited’, expressed delight that he was able to begin and complete the project.
He then handed over the classrooms to the LGEA on Tuesday in a formal ceremony attended by traditional rulers and other personalities in the area.
The philanthropist also said that the project was part of his efforts to give back to society and contribute to the educational development of the community.
He noted that he had executed similar projects in other parts of the state and beyond as part of his social responsibility contract with the people.
The Secretary of the Local Government, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim, while officially receiving the classrooms, charged the Education Secretary of the local government with maintaining the classrooms and using them for the purpose they were meant for.
