The Commonwealth Secretariat bids farewell to His Excellency Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR, High Commissioner for Nigeria in the United Kingdom and Chairman, Accreditation Committee of the Commonwealth and a member of the Executive Committee.
Present at the farewell ceremony are Baroness Patricia Scotland KC, Secretary General, Dr Arjoon Suddhoo, Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Titilupe Tu’ivakano of Tonga, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Prof Luis Franceschi – Assistant Secretary General.
The farewell ceremony comes a month after the Nigerian President recalled the Nigerian Envoy to the United Kingdom on the 1st of September, 2023.
Amb. Sarafa Isola, 62, was appointed Nigeria’s high commissioner in January 2021 by former President Muhammadu Buhari. Before then, he had served as Minister of Mines and Steel Development between (2007-2008). He also served as Secretary to the State Government of Ogun State between (2003 – 2007).
