We’re committed to human capital development ―Chevron

OIL giant, Chevron Nigeria Ltd (CNL), has restated its commitment to the development of human capital as the foundation for sustainable societal progress.

This goal was restated on Monday by Mr Esimaje Brikinn, the General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs of CNL, during his welcome address at opening ceremony of the Chevron-sponsored Advanced Writing and Reporting Skills (AWARES) programme at the Pan Atlantic University (PAU), Lagos.

Brikinn noted that CNL was sponsoring the AWARES programme for the fourth time in 2017, in partnership with PAU.

“One of our core values as a company is partnership. It’s our practice with relevant stakeholders everywhere we operate in our efforts to achieve common business and development goals.

In Nigeria, we have established enduring partnerships with different stakeholders among whom are governments, non-government organisations, business organisations, communities and the media.

Through programmes such as AWARES, we build professional capacity and lasting partnership with media stakeholders,” the PGPA disclosed.

According to him, Chevron, having recognized that business success is deeply intertwined with the success of the larger society, has to support long-term interest to add value to society.

About 20 participants are taking part in the AWARES programme that lasts for 20 days spanning four months with an award of certificate.
