The All Progressives Congress APC governorship flag bearer in the 2019 elections, Tonye Cole has dismissed as fake news claims at some quarters in Rivers State that he does not have National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate.

Speaking to journalists Sunday afternoon a Sunday service the Redeemed Church of God Mission, Kings Palace parish Cole challenged his accusers to go to NYSC and find out whether he has it or not.

He said “They should go to NYSC and find out. Why should I enter a race, stand here and not have my NYSC certificate? It doesn’t make sense. Somebody already called it fake news, let them go and enjoy themselves. NYSC can answer that question”.

Cole promised to give priority attention to the issue of insecurity in the state saying ” that is the first thing am going to deal with. Without security you can’t have development, without security you can’t have peace, without security our people will continue to suffer. So our first objective is to tackle insecurity”.

He explained that the church dedication service which had in attendance the Minister of Transportation and former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi was to dedicate to God.

“We are about to kick off campaigns, so we are going to do sensitisation around all the wards, we will also be consulting all our partners, our friends all our supporters. But before we kick off we wanted to give God all the glory, to thank Him, to dedicate the campaign to Him. That is why we are here today,” he stated.

He urged all APC faithful to be hopeful of victory declaring ” they should not just be hopeful but confident that we will win. We are actually going to win this race, that is certain, 100 per cent.”
