The State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, who led newsmen to the scene of the crime identified the two suspects as Olushola Akindele and Ayodele Bamiduro.
Akindele and Bamiduro had conspired to kill the victim said to the former’s lover by cutting off her head and arms and later buried her remains inside an uncompleted building behind Akindele’s house.
Iliyasu said the Police got wind of the information following a complaint lodged by the Baale of Igbore, Robiyan town, that a headless decomposing body of a woman was found in an uncompleted building in the area.
He said further that the suspects were arrested based on technical intelligence based on an investigation conducted by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Agbado Division, CSP Olatunji Omonijo.
The CP said, “On interrogation, Olushola Akindele, who claimed to be a prophet in a church confessed that the victim was his woman friend, who he simply identified as Iya Aanu. He stated further that they have been dating for two years. On that fateful day, the deceased came to visit him as usual and after they made love, he surreptitiously brought out a cudgel and smashed her head.
