Cleric lauds FG over re-introduction of history in school curriculum

THE Senior Pastor of Covenant Life Way Church, Abeokuta, Richard Ige, has lauded the federal government over the reintroduction of history subject in the school curriculum for all secondary schools in the country.

He stated this at an event organised Martisons on Sunday with the theme: “Nigeria Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, saying that the removal of the subject could be responsible for the agitations by various groups.

He explained that many of the youths agitating for secession were ignorant of the devastating effect of war as experienced during the Biafra war.

The man of God, however, advised the federal government to restore the country’s value system by being honest, sincere and transparent in making its policies for the betterment Nigerians.

He said “Our value system has been totally eradicated. How do we bring back our value? The value system has been tampered with. The issue of corruption is the issue of value

“The government must establish right policies the govt should be honest and sincere and be transparent with whatever policies they are making.

“They should put up a structure to ensure that whatever policies they are putting up for us for the betterment of Nigeria youth and the future of Nigeria actually get to the people at the grass root. he added.

He, therefore, called for the revolution of mindset among the youths in the country.
