Cleric harps on unity, warns Nigerians against tribalism, nepotisme

…as he plans to dedicate books of Psalms in Hausa, Igbo language

A renowned Christian cleric and gospel singer, Evangelist John-Kola Idowu, warned Nigerians against segregation, nepotism, and religious differences that could threaten the unity of the country.

The religious leader issued the warning while speaking with newsmen about the planned dedication of the Holy Book of Psalms, written in Hausa and Igbo languages for Nigerians. He, however, urged them to make unity and harmony their watchwords in building the nation in oneness.

According to him, the country can only achieve remarkable progress in an atmosphere of peace and stability. He called on all citizens to embrace one another, regardless of religious, cultural, or traditional differences, to make Nigeria stronger.

The cleric, who recommended the Book of Psalms and prayers as essential tools for national greatness, noted that the Psalms are now available in Hausa and Igbo.

He emphasised the need to encourage young people to embrace them for spiritual upliftment.

“As we are about to dedicate Psalms 1-150 in Hausa and Igbo, let this be a moment of renewal for our nation.

“Let us use these sacred songs to promote love and unity instead of hatred, violence, and fear,” he said.

The cleric urged Nigerians to shun any form of religious discrimination that could hinder the country’s growth and development.

He noted that the Book of Psalms would provide strength, wisdom, and understanding to those in authority and every Nigerian if adhered to and well kept.
