The Pastor-in-Charge of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Mountain of Mercy (Oke-Erio), Erio Ekiti, Ekiti State, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has urged government and politicians to place premium on implementation of programmes, policies and projects targeted at empowering the masses, particularly the underprivileged.
Olu-Alo also appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to always consider the plight of the needy in society and always come their aid, saying “God has blessed you to bless others. There is joy and blessings in giving.”
The cleric said his yearly empowerment scheme for students and widows in Ido Ekiti, his hometown, which would be inaugurated on Wednesday, was part of attempts to help the needy in society.
Olu-Alo will, on the occasion, offer scholarships to some outstanding Senior Secondary School Three (SSS3) students, pay the WAEC/SSCE fees of some indigent SSS3 students and as well distribute food and empowerment items to widows in the community.
The cleric said the empowerment programme, which was being incorporated into his yearly evangelical programme, Ido/Osi Open Air Crusade, was targeted at ensuring that outstanding and needy students in the community were given help to assist them in their education.
According to him, the handout to the widows would alleviate the hardship occasioned by the present hard times in the country.
Olu-Alo said the 2016 edition of the Ido/Osi Open Air Crusade holding next week between Sunday and Friday at Ido Ekiti, Ekiti State, would witness evangelism, salvation of souls, healing, deliverance from bondage and yokes, manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and transformation of lives and miracles.
He said the revival, which would have in attendance other notable clerics, would be another opportunity to pray for the restoration of the country’s lost glory, assuring that God would hearken to the cries of his beloved and turn the situation of the country around for better.
