PRESIDING Bishop of Maranatha Lord Cometh Ministries International, Samuel Oluwamakinde Alawode, has urged Christians in positions of authority to emulate the Christian virtues of the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of African Newspapers of Nigeria Plc, publishers of Tribune titles, Mr Edward Dickson, whom he described as honest and humble Christian.
Alawode said that Jesus Christ’s second coming was being delayed because Christians had refused to occupy the positions assigned to them by God.
He said this on Sunday, during a church service to round off the church’s annual convention for 2016.
The cleric stated that God’s plan for Christians was to occupy every enterprise and let Christian values shine there in order to make a bountiful harvest for God.
“God wants you as Christians to occupy media space, politics, entertainment, agriculture, ICT, business and all others and exhibit Christian ethics in order to make good harvest of souls for Him,” he said.
He regretted that Satan’s kingdom is expanding because Christians had refused to occupy the space God has given to them.
“If Christians had tortured Satan by doing good, Satan himself would have asked Jesus to come back out of frustration as it happened to King Pharaoh, who asked the Israelites to go after he suffered several casualties,” he noted.
Bishop Alawode urged Christians to live the life worthy of their callings in order to have good rest in eternity.
At the peak of the service was the award presented to the Managing Director, Editor-in-Chief of the African Newspapers of Nigeria Plc, Mr Edward Dickson, for being an exemplary Christian in a position of authority in the media industry.
A similar award was also given to Pastor (Dr) Olatunde Oladokun, who is the Chairman of SEAP microfinance bank for his love for humanity and Christian life that is worthy of emulation.
