He made the call while reading the Bishop’s Charge during the second session of the 15th Synod of the Diocese of Ilesha with the theme:”Christian Stewardship” which held at Christ The Saviour’s
Anglican Church, Cappa, Ilesa, Osun State, on Friday.
Sowale, noted that this was the only way Christians can have a say or lend their voices on the government of the day, adding, “It is clear to us that politicians believe that the resources of all
Nigerians belong to them and the ruling party exclusively.
”This has been the trend from one ruling party and the other. We call on Christians to go and register at the ward level and also join the political party of their choice”. He said.
”As 2019 draws closer, we call on INEC to work harder to make registration of voters as smooth as possible. Whatever will disenfranchise any Nigerian should not come from INEC and should be avoided by all”.
Sowale, therefore, called on other Nigerians to get registered ahead of the elections, noting that their votes remain their power.
Speaking on the state of security in the country, Sowale said:”Pages of our daily newspapers are filled with killing by herdsmen on daily basis and many evils that are bedevilling our nation at the same time, all constitute insecurity and a kind of widespread fear never felt before.
”We call on security agencies to double their efforts in the fight against everything constituting insecurity a threat to the peace of our country”.
