Cleric advocates new constitution for better Nigeria

Published by

A cleric has called for a change in the 1999 Constitution (as amended) to give room for a better Nigeria, adding that the nation’s leadership need to  face the reality of the contemporary period.

The presiding pastor of the Highway Sanctuary International, Felele, Ibadan, Oyo State, Pastor Joseph Olajimi, made this known during the 2023 July Altar Service, held at the church auditorium, last Sunday.

“The nation is revolving around the same set of leaders since 1999. We are not actually ready for a change. It is a good thing to vote for credible people. It is another thing to have a good constitution to guide and pilot them,” he said.

The cleric urged Christian faithful to abstain from any human endeavour that they cannot defend before Christ, set a targets, leave on earth with eternity in view as well as give a full account of their lifeclearly .

Olajimi also urged them to make most of their lifetime impacting positively on others, ensure that they leave their generation better than they met it, be deliberate about life as well as abstain leaving for themselves.

“We have the responsibility to impact on the needy positively. Life is meaningful to men who are deliberate on actions. To be a man of impact, you must be deliberate. We have to make things happen positively.

“Do something legitimate that people will not forget you after your exit. If your presence is not felt, it means you are not impacting on humanity. People of impact give priority to time. Sow your life for the benefit of your generation,” he said.
