Cleric advises Muslim couples

MUSLIMS couples have been advised to study the lifestyle of the Prophet of Islam and his wives so as to have blissful marriages.

The Chief Imam of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Sheikh Misbahudeen AbdulHamid, gave this advice in Ilorin, Kwara State, at the Nikkah ceremony of Ashraf Akintola, son of Alhaji Mas’ud Akintola, National Secretary General of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO) and Ameenah Adebimpe Abdulquadri.

Represented by his son, Sheikh AbdulHakim AbdulHamid, the Islamic scholar noted that no marriage is without challenges and therefore implored the newlyweds to persevere, be patient and work and pray together in unity.

In a goodwill message, the OluIbeji of Bolorunduro Ife, Oba Dhikirullahi Olagbaju Akintola, appealed to the parents of the couple to allow the marriage to work by avoiding interference.

Earlier, a Walimatul Qur’an was held for the bride at the Imam’s compound, Agbaji in Ilorin, where she was admonished to take the Qur’an as her guide.

Dignitaries present at the occasion included the Iba Abogunde in Ogbomosoland, Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Aminu; renowned preacher, Dr Dawood Amoo Alaga and other leaders of the Oyo State Muslim community; the coordinator of NACOMYO in Oyo State, Alhaji Dawood Afolabi and other notable members of the organization in the state; the National Nahibah Ameerah, Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Alhaja Rofiat Idowu Sanni and representatives of notable Islamic organisations in the country.
